Look! Another book. This pocket-sized journal includes tips and tricks for someone looking to travel to The Badlands National Park and see some lesser-known attractions. One of the top things on my personal bucket list is to visit all the National Parks and so far, The Badlands has been my favorite. This project involved a lot of justified type, making it challenging yet very rewarding to finish.

While this book does not have hand lettering (you heard that right) it does have hand-drawn illustrations, like this map, as well as the icons that are in the typographic lockups, like that above.

It was important to me to keep this book packed with information but easy to read when out and about. I divided the book into sections separated by solid colors and a decorative but functional typographic lockup.

The wildlife identification sheets fold out to show illustrations. The illustrations correspond to the wildlife listed on the page next to it, thus providing easy access to the name, description and image all at once.

The end of the book includes a handful of blank gridded sheets of paper for field notes, sketches or even toilet paper if you get desperate enough while hiking!
